the challenge
As the product portfolio expanded, card designs had become inconsistent and difficult to distinguish.

the strategy
Develop a scalable design system that created visual consistency while allowing each product to maintain its own identity.

the system
Establish flexible standards for color, typography, imagery, and layout that could support future launches.

the impact
Created a cohesive product family while reducing design complexity and improving long-term scalability.

After years of numerous designs, Netspend chose to simplify their product line to a single, recyclable design with minimal colors. We made a sleek sophisticated and modern design with some of the newest materials available. For finishes, our team recommended a tiered approach, where they would be upgraded at each level, from Prepaid to Debit to Credit.

Prepaid

Produced on 98% recycled plastic matte finish with a spot gloss varnish for the logomark.

Debit

Made from 98% recycled plastic, this design features a matte finish with a spot gloss varnish highlighting the logomark. A subtle sparkle finish was added for an elevated, premium look.

Credit

The credit product has the highest quality of all of our cards. The gold card features gold foil on a black core, while the black card is made from metal with the logomark elegantly etched out.
